I could try to be as lyrically witty as Van Hunt (I've tried). I could wait until the words just came to me like a letter from serendipity herself (again, I've tried). Or I could try to somehow rewrite his words into something as equally potent and precise (Once again, I've tried). But ultimately I would fail. Van Hunt's "Being A Girl" is, pound for pound, one of the most well written songs I've heard over the last several years. It just flows so seamlessly and it effortlessly paints a portrait of a girl, lost and wanton, but beautiful in such a way that nearly no (straight) man (or gay woman) can resist her charm.
