No One Is Immune...

And inside

We're all still wet

Longing and yearning

How can I explain how I feel?

Words Are Useless, Especially Sentences...

For the last few days I've been consumed with this song/video. It's been my dream-like retreat from reality, my mantra for escapism. Written by Bjork (although her lyrics were altered to fit Madonna's idea for the song) and produced by Nellee Hooper, "Bedtime Story" speaks of losing yourself to reality and traveling to a world completely driven by feeling and imagery.

The video, directed by visionary, Mark Romanek, pulls together this idea with inspiration from female surrealists painters such as Leanora Carrington, Remedios Varo and Frida Kahlo and creates one of the most vivid mixes of dark, surreal and creative fantasy that I've seen on video.

Let's get unconscious, honey...

Madonna - Take A Bow

With inspiration from Joi and creative help from Babyface, Madonna crafted her greatest ballad, "Take A Bow." At the time, it was her at her most vulnerable, her most broken state when it comes to love. Ultimately it was one of her most beautiful moments in music. Take a bow, doll.
